OPG (ορθοπαντομογραφία)

OPG (orthopantomograph) is a special x-ray of the teeth, jaws and lower face. An OPG provides a panoramic x-ray. OPG uses x-rays to attain the images. These x-rays pass through the teeth and jaw in varying amounts, depending on the type of tissue that they interact with. A digital detector receives the x-rays and converts them into an image instantly.
Please bring the referral from your doctor or orthodontist.
Please provide any x-rays/OPG’s you have had in the past of similar areas.
There is no preparation in advance for an X-ray.
Please notify the radiographer if you might be pregnant.
You will be asked to remove relevant clothing and jewellery from around the area of interest.
